Lovely solid silver mesh chatelaine purse made circa 1880. The mesh is in excellent antique condition. The fine frame is decorated to both sides with garlands of laurel leaves, berries and flowers. The exquisite silverwork is in very good condition antique condition…commensurate with age and use. The hinges and clasp are in perfect working order. It opens and closes with a delicate kiss clasp frame, reveling two compartments, delicate hanging loop. It is marked ‘Wild Boar Head’ three times for the silver standard to both sides of the clasp and to the internal frame. It has an attractive fringe with flowers in bud…divine! It measures 3 ¾” total length by 2 ¾” wide to the frame, it weighs 51.8 grams.
