    Description

For sale is a good early Napoleonic French 800 silver tablespoon from the 1797-1909 period.  The spoon is 8 3/8 inches long and weighs 56 grams.  The spoon has no shoulders, an upturned fiddle handle and a large swaged drop.  The spoon is monogrammed “BA” on the handle back.  It is marked with a French provincial 2
    nd
standard cockerel mark from the 1797-1809 period, a worn maker’s mark and an oval provincial guarantee mark.

Condition on the spoon is fairly good.  The bowl is slightly “pinched “on one side and there is minor bowl tip wear and a modern abrasion under the bowl tip.  There are normal signs of use and some stubborn spots.  It has a decent old surface and has not been buffed.  A fine antique French spoon.
